How are you all? I hope you are gearing up for a halloween knees-up depending on whatever shape or form that might take. Welcome to the new faces around here too. I hope you enjoy following this foodie feast that is the Sauce Pot newsletter.

Over the past few days, I have created two new recipes inspired by a dinner at Mexico City’s, Contramar restaurant. I ate here back in 2019 and I still remember everything from the sky blue bar seating, their signature margaritas, Alexandre Arrechea’s dramatic cobalt blue mural of two fish and their lavish dessert trolly busting with their signature strawberry meringue cake. It was a vibe! If you are in that incredible part of the world, it is a must-visit where you will devour your weight in their legendary fish tostadas.

Below is an effortless fish dish that is baked in a punchy salsa. It is born to shovel into a taco and it could not be easier to whip up. I even ate the leftovers for breakfast the next day. SO GOOD! Don’t get me started on the quick-pickle onions - heaven!

Contramar is famous for its desserts but, they are quite time-consuming. I wanted to take on some of their essence and break it down into a one-bowl-cake for you. I took a shine to their coconut flan but, who has 24hrs to make this?! Still riding the coconut wave, I’m introducing you to a Sticky Mango Coconut Cake. It’s got a beautifully glossy top which looks impressive and a texture to die for.

Still running in the Mexican vain, here is one of my favourite breakfasts; a cheesy taco with jalapeños + these rainbow wraps always hit the spot.
