Roast Me Up!
Marseille Inspired Chicken + Sweet Potato Crème Fraîche Gratin
Ello ello or, I should say, bonjour!
I hope you are all enjoying the crisp, bright mornings. I am writing this from a cafe in Marseille where the pastel pink houses are flooded in sparkling sunshine. I am here on a research trip for two weeks and despite having spent a lot of time in this city over the past year, there is still many a croissant and pain au Swiss to still to uncover. From a chef’s point of view, it really is a never-ending treasure trove of beurre-noisette goodies out here.
Anyway, back to this week’s Sauce Pot. Inspired by this slightly rough around the edges Provençal city including a nod to its North African influences, there is a juicy as hell Harissa Roast Chicken. It’s going to be your new Sunday meal situ. For those of you looking for something for Thanksgiving inspiration, I have included a very simple Sweet Potato Gratin with Crème Fraîche. Sides are life after all!
I have been charging through all of Barry Can’t Swim while I have been out here and so there is a new playlist below. If you want something a bit different, then the movie French Lover did make me chuckle. Omar Sy is a legend!
A few more cosy side options for the table this month: a good breakfast gratin, Leek Gruyere Gratin + just in case you missed it, Squash Gratin.
Big love, Comté + Bouillabaisse
Nina xx
This is a paid peeps instalment, so if you are curious for that roast chick and gratin, it’s just £5 per month. Cancel at anytime! It just helps me make this a belter of a newsletter every time. Zero pressure either way :)
